Deepinfo vs. Mandiant

Mandiant suits organizations that need incident responders and intelligence drawn from frontline investigations. Deepinfo suits teams that want continuous visibility of their external exposure, brand and vendors, worked through to a verified fix.

Most security programs need both kinds of help at some point. The question is which one you are buying now.

Where Mandiant Is Strong.

When an adversary is already inside, responders matter most.

Mandiant’s investigators work breaches as their daily job, and its intelligence and yearly M-Trends report draw on that casework. When a breach has to be reconstructed to the standard a board or a regulator expects, that experience is what you pay for.

Deepinfo is not an incident response firm and does not try to be one.

Where Deepinfo Is Strong.

Deepinfo is built for the long stretch between incidents, when exposure builds up quietly. Each attack surface issue carries its evidence and a state, and is marked verified resolved only when a rescan confirms the signal is gone.

Split the Work at the Incident Line.

Where the handoff sits when your program uses both.

  1. 01

    Map

Deepinfo discovers what you expose, including subsidiary and forgotten infrastructure, and keeps scanning it.

  2. 02

    Reduce

Your team works exposed services, leaked credentials and lookalike domains down, each through its own workflow.

  3. 03

    Respond

When an incident happens, responders lead. Per-asset history of DNS, certificates, WHOIS and ports shows what changed on an affected asset, and when.

  4. 04

    Feed back

What the investigation found becomes new seeds, discovery rules and notification rules, so that gap is watched from then on.

What Buyers Ask About Both.

Is Deepinfo an incident response service?

No. Deepinfo is a platform your own team runs. For an active intrusion you need responders, in-house or from a firm such as Mandiant.

Can Deepinfo data help during an investigation?

Yes. The platform keeps a history for each scanned layer, so responders can see when a DNS record, a certificate or a WHOIS record changed on an affected asset. The Data & API tier adds DNS and WHOIS history for any domain, including ones you do not monitor.

Mandiant sells attack surface management too. How do they compare?

Run both on the same seed domains. Compare what each discovers, how each ranks what it finds, and what comes with it, such as breach data, lookalike domains and vendor scanning on the same scale.

Does Deepinfo watch for leaked credentials and impersonation?

Yes. Cyber Threat Intelligence covers email breaches, infostealer-infected devices and leaked client and payment credentials, and Brand Risk Protection watches lookalike domains, including ones built with confusable letters. Mandiant covers this ground with Digital Threat Monitoring.

How does buying each one differ?

Deepinfo is a platform subscription, priced by the scope you monitor; see pricing. Mandiant, part of Google Cloud since 2022, sells services, managed services and products.
